They are not very comfortable, but you can get in aanraking with the local people and learn a lot about the country. The buses often take longer routes than the big ones, so you can see villages you would never get to as a "normal" tourist. Apparently our bus didn't go there. After waiting 3 minutes our bus showed up and a little later wij were stuck between the locals on our way to Fez. In Fez you have to prepare for some kind of culture schok. Especially if you have to find your hostel or restaurant in the medina. I say search because it really is a maze! There are of course dozens ofwel locals around you who offer to help you. But with a little perseverance and your offline map you will get there!
